Tends tanks that recover caustic soda from solutions used in viscose rayon production: Turns valves to admit impure soda solution to outside section of tank and water to inside section, effecting absorption of soda into water by osmosis through cloth membrane separating sections. Turns valves to regulate discharge of resulting pure soda and intake of impure soda, according to level of solution in tank sections.
